This is gonna be short but to the point.
Here’s the difference: it’s called CONSENT
I played 3 sports in high school and still play sports all the time (I have been known to hit a 3-pointer or 4 every now and then). I have been in many locker rooms.
Men, in locker rooms, and in other places, talk about sex.
So do women.
Talking about sex, even explicitly among friends, is normal and most people do it. When friends of both/all genders talk about sex, they talk about consensual sex. Friends, including those across genders, discuss sexual details with each other. Famous sitcoms made entire episodes about this type of talk. (Exhibit A: Seinfeld)
But what Trump did is different.
Trump bragged about ASSAULT.
Touching, kissing, and groping women WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT.
This isn’t locker room talk. If someone said that shit in a locker room, they would be scorned, ridiculed, and hopefully reported.
This isn’t the equivalent of Bill Clinton. What Bill Clinton did was a personal failure and an betrayal of his wife. That’s deserving of criticism. But everything Bill Clinton did was still consensual. If assholes like Rudy Giuliani, Jeff Sessions, and Corey Lewandowski don’t get that, then they’re just as bad as Trump.
Trump does not respect consent or the lack thereof.
He is a criminal, not just a red-blooded American man.
That’s the difference.
